Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem gave the country its first-ever gold medal in javelin throw at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Nadeem broke the 90m barrier in the final of the men’s javelin throw and clinched the gold medal. He shared a video snippet from his performance on Instagram and India’s Neeraj Chopra wrote a congratulatory message for the athlete in the comments section. The athletes’ camaraderie won appreciation online. Their wonderful bond also grabbed Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra’s attention.

Nadeem shared the video snippet and wrote, “Allah k karm se or aap sab ki duao se Commonwealth games Ka Gold and Commonwealth games New Record 91.18m. Thanks (With the grace of God and your prayers I have won the Commonwealth Games gold and also set the new record of 91.18m.)”

Neeraj congratulated the athlete and wrote, “Congratulations Arshad bhai for Gold medal and crossing 90m with a new games record. Aage ke competitions ke liye all the best (Congratulations Arshad bhai for gold medal and crossing 90m with a new games record. Best of luck for future competitions.”

Now, Anand Mahindra was all praise for their camaraderie. He shared a screenshot of Neeraj Chopra’s message for Nadeem and wrote, “This is how the world should be A Gold medal to both of them for demonstrating the difference between competitiveness and enmity. #NeerajChopra #ArshadNadeem.”

Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra had to pull out of the Commonwealth Games after suffering a groin injury in the World Championships, where he won the silver medal.
