Shark Tank India Judge and ace-entrepreneur Ashneer Grover is trying to move past the controversies surrounding him in recent months.

According to information from Tofler, Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, established a new company named Third Unicorn Private Limited following the BharatPe controversy.

Grover had dropped a hint about his new company on June 14 while posting on his birthday. In a tweet, Grover wrote: “Today, I turn 40. Some will say I’ve lived a full life and experienced more things than most. Created value for generations.”

“Time to disrupt another sector. It’s time for the Third Unicorn,” he added, hinting at the company’s name.

Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, formerly the Head of Controls at BharatPe, are listed as directors of the firm that was registered on July 6, according to information on Tofler

The company has a total paid-up capital of Rs 10 lakh, with a share capital authorization of Rs 20 lakh.

Before his abrupt departure due to charges of financial irregularities, Grover served as MD and co-founder of BharatPe, a fintech company he helped develop from the ground up. The unicorn club had welcomed BharatPe in August of the previous year.

Grover and his wife have repeatedly accused CEO Suhail Sameer and Chairman Rajnish Kumar of unfairly removing them from their positions at BharatPe.

Ashneer Grover previously worked with another unicorn named Grofers before joining BharatPe. Up until August 2017, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Grofers (now Blinkit). So the mention of creating a “third unicorn” makes sense.

Any privately held startup with a $1 billion value is considered a “unicorn.”

The industry Grover intends to enter is currently unknown. However, in an interview with Moneycontrol in March following his exit from BharatPe, Grover had dropped a hint that he wishes to develop a bootstrapped company rather than rely on investors.

Ashneer is reportedly in discussions with investors to raise money for the business, according to multiple news reports. According to, the company hopes to provide services in computer and related industries all across India.
