Divya Pandey, a 24-year-old UPSC candidate from Jharkhand mistakenly thought she had cracked UPSC on her first attempt before realising her error. Her family apologised later forfalsely announcing that she had cracked the UPSC civil services exam with Rank 323.
The resident of Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district saw the same name as hers on the list of those who cracked the UPSC exam and misunderstood it to be herself.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY CONGRATULATE
Her friends who had appeared for the exam with her also congratulated her on seeing her name.
As soon as news spread, there was an influx of friends and family who wanted to congratulate the young lady.
Several political party leaders including Madhavi Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Ramgarh district, GM of CCL CMD CCL Rajrappa congratulated Divya Pandey.
REALISATION OF THE ERROR
The news of Divya Pandey’s UPSC win made headlines in both electronic media and print media. But the reality turned out to be something else.
It was discovered later that it isn’t Divya Pandey who has got Rank 323 in UPSC, but a different Divya P who hails from Tamil Nadu.
Divya’s family members are now disappointed and embrassed after the realisation of the error.
