For the second consecutive day, both gold and silver rates edged lower in the Indian market and were trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Wednesday, June 1.

Gold futures, maturing on August 5, 2022, stand at Rs 50,700 per 10 grams, recording a marginal dip of Rs 281 or 0.55 per cent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 50,847.

Similarly, silver futures, due on July 5, 2022, witnessed a downfall of Rs 535 or 0.88 percent and were retailing at Rs 60,876 per kg on the MCX against the previous close of Rs 61,125.

Notably, the price of gold varies for different regions based on certain parameters such as the excise duty, making charges and the state taxes.

At Rs 47,500, the price of 10 grams of 22 carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai is at par. Meanwhile, the metal is selling at Rs 47,700 in Chennai.
