C-section or Cesarean delivery is quite different from natural or vaginal birth. A C-section is a major surgery that takes about 45 minutes. During the surgical procedure, the baby is delivered through incisions made in the abdomen and uterus.
A C-section delivery is usually done when there are pregnancy complications like labour isn’t progressing or the baby is in an abnormal position or there is a problem with the placenta among other issues.
Both vaginal and C-section deliveries have their own pros and cons but women fear the latter a lot. One big reason behind it is that the healing and recovery period of a C-section delivery is much longer than a normal delivery. Also, it is believed to be much more painful than a normal delivery.
Many women today have to get their babies delivered via a C-section due to some reason or the other. In the past, many Bollywood celebrities too had a c-section birth. Let’s quickly take you through their delivery journeys.
